What I want to learn more about computer is how to make popular websites. Although in our computer class, we made own blog and will make our own websites, they are for class, and there were few people to visit from outside the class. However, there are many many personal websites that were very popular among net users. I am interested in making such a great website because I have topics that I want to share other people. These are baseball and professional wrestling. They are not only my hobby but also parts of my life! My ideal website has many contents such as information about a topic, communication space, and my profile. Furthermore, if someone research about the topic, I want my website to appear on the first page of research result! Therefore, I want to know more about how to create cool website and to make it popular.

This will be my last post as a class assignment. However, I will continue blogs after going to the U.S., and enjoy my American life. My last post will end up with one of my favorite songs, also the theme of Wrestlemania 23, which is biggest event of wrestling.

The most popular website that has many many viral videos is Youtube, and it became very popular among the internet users. Also, the contents of these videos are various. Most of them are filmed, edited, and posted by amateurs, so they are very unique and funny. It can be completely private events and moments. Moreover, it is so easy that everyone can post their own videos. Not only the video that taken by video camera but also the camera in mobile phone can be used for posting. Therefore, the website of viral videos is becoming a new place of communication with others. On the other hand, the problem is copy rights. Because it is easy to use, many TV programs and professional musician’s promotion videos are posted as viral videos. Consequently, we can watch and listen to them without any payments, so many entertainment companies are bothered. However, viral videos can be very exciting things if we follow the manner.

Computer gifts you would buy for friends & family

The computer gifts that I would like to buy for my family are microphone and web camera for computers. It is because I want to use the Skype for communicating with my family after going to the United States. Once we get these two items, we can talk each other for free through the internet, so I do not have to pay the international telephone fees. Moreover, we can see our faces each other with Skype unlike normal telephones. Therefore, my computer gifts for my family would be microphone and web camera.
Secondly, my computer gift for my friend would be the same because I also want to talk to my high school and NIC friends even after we are apart. I think this system is very innovative and helpful for foreign students. As a result, we can keep contact with our precious people. Thus, this computer gift of mine is going to be real in the next several months.

What Is "Net Neutrality"?

Net Neutrality is the principle that Internet users should have control over the contents what they use or watch. In other words, the network company such as Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft should not have any priority for the Internet contents that their own services are used for. For example, if Google treats well the webpage that is provided through Google’s network, this should be unfair. Since the beginning of the Internet service, this principle was very important and applied to many companies to be bigger. Also, major internet companies like Google follow this principle.

These days, however, it is a subject of the argument. In the U.S., the Congress was requested to give the permission that determines what comes first and fastest. It is because the largest telephone company wants to have the control over the Internet sources that makes more profit. Now this issue became more serious eventually, and this argument has not ended yet.

The first news about computer

At February 22^nd, Microsoft lost the trial against Alcatel – Lucent, the French network company. The court delivered a verdict of guilty of Microsoft and ordered it to pay 1 billion and 520 million dollars. Alcatel – Lucent had sued Microsoft for the patent right of MP3. It has the original technique of deal of music files, but it appealed that this technique was used by Microsoft without permission for creating new music software of Microsoft. Of course Microsoft insists that they signed a contract with a German company for using MP, so it is considering appealing against this sentence.

I think Microsoft may solve this problem in some ways, but it could damage in an unguarded moment by Apple Computer.

The second news

At February 22^nd, Google announced that it will provide new service, called Google Apps Premier Edition. With this service, we can use many functions that are useful especially business. First, it has Google Talk. This is the IP telephone and instant massaging function. Second, we can use Google Calendar for making our schedule easily. Third, we can make documents and calculate on the table with Google Docs＆Spreadsheets like Microsoft Word and Excel. A few years later, this might be very popular in the business world.

I do not know how useful it will be in business, but I am very interested in this service because I am going to major in business in the future.

Social Engineering means getting important and confidential information by social means, such as conversation, eavesdropping, and steals. This is also called “social hacking” or “social cracking”. Because social engineering does not require any special computer skill for finding information, everyone can do it.
The examples of the information are passwords of your account in computers. If someone fined your password written on your memo in the garbage box, you could be the victim of social engineering; in other words, this person would abuse your account for shopping, and you will have to pay something that you will not get.
Also, disguising other person for drawing information is another example of social engineering. For example, someone could pretend to be your mother and ask your information such as bank account number.
If this happens within a company, this company will be stolen their workers’ and financial information. This must be huge damage for it. These days, because the e-mail is very popular, the social engineering using e-mail is increasing. On the day of second week of this semester, one news struck surprise to me. iPhone, one of the greatest products of Apple computer, will be released next June! Oh my god! What an innovative sell phone it is! When I go to the United States, I will buy it absolutely, so I want to know about it more.
First of all, iPhone has the same function as iPod, so I can listen to a lot of music. Before having known this news, I had planed to buy an iPod for using in the U.S., but I do not need it with having iPhone. However, I have no idea how to download music into phone and how many music it saves in itself. Therefore, my interest is the function of music in iPhone.
Also, I heard we can see the internet if we have iPhone. Unlike normal sell phones, it provides the same picture of the internet as computers. Because I have blogs and check some websites everyday, this function is very important for me. Moreover, I wonder whether iPhone can display Japanese or not. Consequently, I am interested in this internet function most.

What I want to learn about computers

My dairy life starts with a computer. Because I do not have a TV in my room, I always check the weather forecast in a computer. During the daytime, I research some information or write an essay with a computer. After coming back to the dormitory, I check my e-mail box and read the news in a computer. A computer is essential to my life, but I am not being able to make good use of it because of millions of functions in a computer. Therefore, I want to know about computers much more than now, especially how to use Microsoft Excel, to create web pages, and to make my computer functional.
First, I want to know the effective way to use Microsoft Excel. Last semester, I used Excel every week in my accounting class; however, it took so long time! Every time I did my homework, I stayed up late until 1 or 2 a.m. Although I had heard that there are other easy ways in Excel, I did not know how to do. Also, because I am going to major in business, I cannot escape from calculating numbers and making lists and graphs, so I need to utilize the Microsoft Excel!
Having own web page sounds very cool! In fact, I had tried to create my web pages about baseball, but I gave up it under the settings. Why? It was because the setting of a page was some kind of troublesome for me such as account, template, contents; nobody could teach how to do it. Now despite I have blogs, I really want my own web page and share the information I have.
Lastly my computer is very normal one that is not so functional. I already install Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Earth on my computer thanks to my teacher’s lecture, but I am sure that there are many more useful things that make my computer more functional. Therefore, by listening lectures carefully, I want to know about useful functions or software and their effects. Then I try and practice them in my computer as much as possible.
